When I first heard about Children’s Home Society & Family Services (CHSFS) I was working as a reporter in Minneapolis for WCCO-TV.  A co-worker was married to the marketing and promotions director whose responsibility was to raise awareness for the CHSFS Polo Classic, a fundraiser they now no longer host. Regardless, their cause at the time resonated with me as they helped families through international adoption.

Later, I produced a story on Han Hyun Sook, an amazing woman who had touched the lives literally thousands of Korean children as a social worker specializing in adoption.  Mrs. Han was a child during the Korean War and her tale of survival, how she carried her sister on her back in the dead of winter and her promise to some day come back and help the abandoned children, moved me to tears.  I, the adopted Korean, adopted Mrs. Han on the spot.

Shortly after I left WCCO-TV I was approached to produce a fundraising video for the Polo Classic.  The goal was to create an inspiring piece that could be used in fundraising efforts.  We dove in and met families who were transformed through their experience with Children’s Home Society and Family Services.  Their stories are included in this piece.

As CHSFS grew and their marketing emphasis changed we would create two additional versions of this piece.  Simply, this piece is about inspiring people with heart warming stories whose lives were touched by the work of the folks at Children’s Home Society and Family Services.
