Keep Your Deck Looking Great
You’ve got a new deck. Congratulations. Now, what do you do to keep it looking great?
First of all, you’ll want to use a semi-transparent stain or clear finish with UV protectors so the grain shows. A deck paint or solid color stain will hide all the grain but does require additional attention.

What Kind of Life Exists After a Life in TV News?!
I’ve had a job every year of my life since the age of nine. It started with a paper route - six days a week rain or shine or minus 30-degree wind chill. After that came four years of baby-sitting, followed by a stint in fast food before spending the next seven years in retail.
Special Olympics Athletes and PGA Pros Team Up For State Open Pro-Am, July 23
Alec Kelsey is a great athlete – but he’s not your typical high school senior. After spending 18 days in a coma at age four, doctors didn’t know if he would ever wake up, let alone play sports. But Alec has defied odds his entire life — recovering from a devastating illness, coping with cognitive delays due to bilateral brain damage, dealing with life-threatening seizures on a daily basis – and is now involved in athletics like most teenage boys. An avid golfer, Alec is one of 27 Special Olympics athletes participating in the Minnesota State Open Pro-Am on July 23, kicking off the State Open weekend.

Seven Minnesota professional golfers are headed to New Mexico at the end of the month for the PGA Professional National Championship, June 28 – July 1, in hopes of qualifying for the 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
Dr. Irv Fradkin — Still Passionate, and Still Helping Students
I have a confession to make: I love old people. Really. I think my grandpa and grandma are about the cutest things on the face of the planet, and I giggle about little old men and women the way some people coo over babies. Anyway, my point is, yesterday I met one of the cutest little old men I’ve ever seen — but Dr. Irving Fradkin is more than just a pretty face. Even at 90, while most people his age are well into retirement, Dr. Fradkin is still giving back to the community and helping young people across the United States have a chance at going to college.
Helping Paws on KARE-11, WCCO-TV
Saturday, May 30 was Helping Paws‘ annual Wag Walk & Run fundraiser, and last week its volunteers –and dogs — made the media rounds. Sort of like when Jennifer Aniston hits the talk show circuit to promote her latest movie — except a little furrier.
